As long as our elected officials continue their corrupt collusion with big banks, Wall Street and multinational corporations, the rungs on our economic ladder will continue to grow further and further apart.  The average working men and women of this country will take a back seat to corporate profits, and greed will remain unregulated in the name of a “free” market.  If “free” means that we are now required to pay for the sins of the one percent so that they can remain unscathed and even wealthier at our expense, then consider us crucified.

We are now nearing endgame and its a game that the common man is about to lose.  The wealthiest 1 percent of this country have gone from receiving 9 percent of the nation’s income to 23 percent in just one generation.  They owned 40 percent of the nation’s wealth even before the crooks among them knowingly brought the sky falling down in ’08.  The 1 percent’s slice of the economic pie will continue to grow until the American people take their blinders off and do something about it.  Like it or not, we are in a class war in which our only effective ammunition is our votes.  We are living in a country that is run by people with no moral compass — who write their own rules and live in their own world — who will do anything to maintain the status quo of untethered greed…

“It’s breathtaking.  After all we’ve been through in recent years, there’s no greater privilege than watching it (the wealth gap) grow bigger and bigger each day. There may be a few naysayers who worry that if it gets any wider, the whole thing will collapse upon itself and take millions of people down with it, but I for one am willing to take that chance. Besides, something tells me I’d probably make it out okay.”              - Goldman Sachs CEO, Lloyd Blankfein

This site is for those who have had enough and want to contribute in taking their country back.  This site is for those who demand that our politicians work to serve the best interests of We the People and not just We the Wealthy.  Contrary to how many choose to portray us, we are not driven by envy and we feel entitled to nothing except our constitutional rights and equal economic opportunity.  If you’re among the one percent and you’ve accumulated your wealth through fair and honest means, we welcome you to join us.  We don’t care if you buy a yacht, mansion, private jet, your own island, or a solid gold commode; just don’t buy a congressman.  We want bills to be created, amended, repealed, approved or defeated based on the needs of the school teacher, truck driver, farmer and small business owner (the 99%) — not the wants of an obscenely wealthy CEO (the 1%).  We feel that our cries for economic justice will go unanswered until we establish ourselves as a unified voting force and send a very clear message to every bought-and-paid-for politician at all levels of government.  The message:  Work for us or we will vote you out.

History has shown that this level of inequality and injustice can only be defeated by the will of the people.  Do you wish to finally put an end to the corporate assault on our democracy?  Do you wish to have a real impact by putting the fear of God in our politicians who continue to toe the line for the one percent?  Then do the last thing they want or expect us to do… Occupy the Vote.

Our goal:  First and foremost is a large coordinated effort to Occupy the Vote on a massive scale in 2012.  If you are not yet a registered voter, please click on the registration page above and take the first step in making a difference.  Secondly, we hope to provide a constructive environment in which to learn, debate and share our views and ideas.  And who knows?  Maybe at the end of the day we will have accomplished something.
